USWAGINC CHILDREN'S CENTER
PHILIPPINE CHILDREN'S ORPHANAGE
Located in Danao City, Cebu, Philippines, this center was established to provide abandoned and neglected street children their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as well as to provide educational, social and recreational activities to enhance the lives of the children it serves. Although the Center has operated on N.B.Del Carmen Street in Danao City since its inception on Feb. 28, 2002, the building that it occupies is next to and owned by the Danao City District Hospital. The Hospital is currently starting its expansion project, and the Chidren's Shelter is going to be torn down, and the Center and its children are being forced to move. There are no funds to build a new Center. JDA Corporation has donated a small lot for the next Center, but there are no improvements on the land, so donations are desperately needed to construct a new shelter, and to house the children during the construction process. Without the funds to begin work on the new shelter, the children will be forced to live in tents on the lot, with no running water or bathroom facilities. |

| There are presently seventeen orphans who live at the Center. Their ages range from infants to older teens. The Center has served many children since its inception, both residential and transient, and the Center's Director (shown above left), Mr. Manuel Maglasang, has been with the Center since the beginning, and is in charge of the day to day operations. |

Wonderful Children
Two of these wonderful children in this photo are sisters. The youngest cannot talk. Thankfully she still has her older sister to help care for her, and to give her some loving hugs. All of the children at the Center help each other, and together they make a family that will be a part of their lives forever. One for all, and all for one. |

Manuel With Hopes For the Future Center
Mr. Maglasang says that everything is in the hands of God, and without His and your help, the children will be forced to live in tents. Donations are desparately needed, and even the smallest contributions will be greatly appreciated. God Bless You for helping! |

The Donated Lot Waiting for the New Center
The new center may cost as much as three million pesos (about $65,000) to build. The lot is much closer to the schools where the children attend, and they will be able to walk to class. The staff and some of the children have begun working on clearing the lot, in preparation for their arrival. |
